Fresh from reporting decent growth in revenue despite the current economic downturn, Google have now re-opened a revenue stream that has been closed to them for some time, as they have taken the decision to allow gambling PPC adverts on their AdWords Platform for the first time since 2007, reports e-consultancy.
From today, advertisers who have registered with the Gambling Commission and have a valid licence number can now bid on phrases that for the last year or have been restricted.
It's advised that people wanting to participate set up a new account specifically for these campaign, and have to apply to Google for permission to bid on these phrases.
Its not taken long for people to begin bidding on these phrases - there are already 8 people bidding for the phrase "online gambling" and this is bound to be the tip of the iceberg:
